Jury-rigged Cyclorama

Jury-rigged Cyclorama

The blogs I follow tend to have their photography game on lock. All through their archives each photograph is staged, lit and balanced precisely the same. Seemingly the process is replicated like clockwork at a moment’s notice. This is a skill I could certainly use some leveling-up in.

I decided to construct a little cyclorama for clean pictures. It’s really just some printer paper glued to the inside of a shoebox.

My photos tend to have harsh light spots and shadows. I’ve attempted to remedy this by dressing my lamps in white t-shirts.

I took some snaps of old minis using an aperture of f/16, shutter speed of 0.6 seconds, and an ISO of 100. Zoom is between 150 and 175mm.

I think Old Man Oldenhammer looks polished in this one. It’s decidedly more readable than the shots in my last post.

IDK about the matrix stockroom look. I’m interested in trying out gradients and textures. The miniature above looks menacing on a black background, but I’ve found those photographs usually require setup and patience.

I hope to be able to pick a precise process and stay consistent with it.
